Editorial standards

Our money guides deal with borrowing decisions that carry real consequences. This page sets out how they are researched, what we will and will not claim, and how we are paid.

Who writes this

Guides are published under the MetriqaHub Editorial Team byline rather than individual names. We use an organisational byline because the research, the calculator logic and the review are done by different people, and attributing a page to one name would misrepresent that.

We do not claim professional licensure. We are not lenders, brokers, financial advisers, accountants or attorneys, and nothing here is personalised advice. Where a decision depends on your circumstances, we say so and point you to someone qualified to assess them.

Where our figures come from

Every guide carries a Sources section listing the specific authorities behind its claims and what each one supports. We cite primary sources, preferring the agency that sets or administers the rule.

We deliberately avoid stating current interest rates, programme thresholds or eligibility cutoffs as settled fact. Those move, and a stale number presented confidently is worse than no number. We explain the mechanism instead, which stays true, and direct you to the authority for the current figure.

How our calculators work

Every calculator prints its method beneath the result, including the formula and the assumptions it makes. If a calculator assumes a fixed rate, ignores fees, or produces a lending ceiling rather than an approval, it says so on the page.

Our calculators use standard, checkable formulas. Amortisation uses P = B x r / (1 - (1 + r)^-n). Home equity capacity uses combined loan-to-value. You can verify any result by hand, and we would rather you did.

How we make money, and what it does not buy

MetriqaHub is free to use and is funded by advertising and, where relevant, affiliate arrangements with financial providers. If we are paid when a reader takes an action, that will be disclosed on the page where it happens.

No advertiser or affiliate partner reviews our guides before publication, influences the conclusions we reach, or buys a recommendation. Where a product is a poor choice for most readers, we say so, including where we could be paid for saying otherwise. We do not publish sponsored posts presented as editorial.

Dates on our pages

Each guide shows the date its figures and rules were last checked against the sources it lists. That date means a person actually rechecked them. We do not display review dates for reviews that did not happen, and we would rather show an older honest date than a fresh fictional one.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, we want to fix it. Report an error through our contact page, quoting the page and what you believe is incorrect. We check reports against the primary source, correct the page where the report is right, and note material corrections on the page itself.
